- When checking out microphones and other delicate pieces of gear from CNMAT, it is important to protect them properly.

- Microphones should be transported in their cases, if possible. If not possible, they should be wrapped in foam so that they are protected if dropped. A dropped mic may seem alright on cursory inspection, but capsules are delicate, and the frequency response can easily be damaged by rough treatment.

- There are padded Pelican road suitcases available in the dugout which can be used for gear checkouts: please do not use paper bags, milk cartons, etc.
