Jitter is an extension to Max that allows for the generation and manipulation of video, matrix, and 3D graphics data. Learning to work with the Jitter Matrix - a container for any data that can be expressed in rows and columns - enables you to expand MaxMSP projects into more rich media experiences (video and still images, multidimensional geometry, as well as text, spreadsheet data, particle systems, vertex data, or audio). Because a Matrix does not impose a specific representation for this data, Jitter is capable of working with a broad variety of transcoding and data-mapping scenarios. Jitter is useful to anyone interested in real-time video processing, custom effects, 2D/3D graphics, audio/visual interaction, audio or data visualization, and analysis. This course will cover both core concepts and techniques as well as applied uses for the software in performance and media arts.

This sequence of five evening classes covers Cycling 74's Jitter environment and is designed for students with at least a basic understanding of Max programming.
