CNMAT research has a stribe kit and is collaborating with the developer.
Despite the way Josh describes his stribe it is not 8-channel nor is it a multi-touch controller. It has 8 single-touch position sensing strips and a large number of led bars under each strip. It employs an Arduino and can be controlled by OSC with max patches Josh provides.
