Otso presented a brief review of augmented instruments mentioning many of the key augmented chordophone projects. He went on to describe his
conceptual framework for such augmentations and how to compose and perform with them. He concluded with a brief review of the augmentations he is working on. I thought at the time that he could have spent more time covering his actual instrument and less on the conceptual work but
this turned out not to be an issue as his concert performance that evening aptly demonstrated his instrument in the right context.
