##The easy way
Coming around the right side of the desk, there is a bundle of cables for laptop connectivity. One of these is an 1/8" plug that can be plugged directly into the audio output of your laptop. It routes to channels 1 and 2 of [cnmat:node/3233|the mixer].
## The better way
In the trunk of laptop cables, there is a firewire cable labeled **to motu828**. This goes to the MOTU 828 in the rack. [cnmat:node/3232|Detailed instructions about the 828 are here.] The quick version:

- The 828 takes a driver that needs to be installed
- Channels 1-8 (Analog 1-8) go directly to the Fostex Speakers; if they fit your needs, then you're done.
- Channels 15-22 (ADAT 1-8) are interfaced directly with ADAT Bank C on the 2408
- The clock source for the 828 must be set to "ADAT Optical" and the Optical In and Optical Out both set to "ADAT"

There is a DVI cable in the laptop trunk. This connects to a switch, and then to the right monitor. The switch is currently on the floor, to the right of the desk. Press the button on the front until the number "2" appears on the front, then plug your laptop into the DVI cable. You may need to open your displays control panel and run detect displays.

#Network

As part of the general laptop trunk, there is a blue ethernet cable. Plug this in. You will need a fixed IP address. If you don't have one, use:

- Router:128.32.122.254
