Eco Ensemble protocol for programming pieces with technology.

No piece involving electronics can be programmed without first seeing the full score, mapping the full technology picture and estimated costs. The technical materials (Max patch etc.) must be fully testing all the electronic materials.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE:

Assign a pre-production manager who is fully tech savvy and understands all aspects of ECO style concert production.
contact the composer and others that have performed the piece and get the facts about the state of this work

Once piece with significant technology is programmed, assign a technical manager who is budgeted into project.
is able to read music and understands new music production
meets with conductor, listens to piece, and shares/discusses all technical details
coordinates and builds rehearsal schedule with full understanding of tech needs
coordinates with Cal Performances and organizes communication and technical support
coordinates technical installment of piece at rehearsal and concert and breakdown
coordinate involvement with CNMAT principles, and fix CNMAT contributions
coordinate involvement with graduate students and fix grad student contributions
develop a complete and published technical plan for production of the work
space reservations for performers to practice with tech
location for tech storage
Reports to production manager and insures that all participants are fully credited and acknowledged in performance for their work . insure names of people and institutes are included in press releases and programs as possible
Participates in ECO meetings related to concert
Insure that participating technical staff are properly scheduled, have breaks and not long days and no all night events
