Recording from the Main Room

#Standard connections
The [cnmat:node/2726|Rear Studio] is prewired to record eight microphone channels from the Main Room. See [cnmat:node/3828|Recording from the Main Room] in the Rear Studio manual for complete information on recording with the Tascam digital mixer, use of the talkback system, etc.

#Additional patch points
There is a 20-pair XLR patchbay in the Main Room rack which was formerly used for connecting the Yamaha 02R to the rack for mixing of live shows, etc. (using large multi-pin military-style connectors); these patch points are no longer available

Additionally, at the rear of the Main Room there is a patchbay incorporating 16 XLR plus coax and com lines, which is wired to a patch panel in the Middle Studio downstairs.

#Main Room recording concerns
Be aware that the A/C system fans and the refrigerator motors in the kitchen make noise which will interfere with quiet recordings, and will need to be disabled.
