micro-OSC is a USB class-compliant serial device -- it is automatically supported by built-in drivers provided by operating system manufacturers. For some reason, on Windows, you still need to load a driver "information" file, otherwise it won't work.

When connecting for the first time, the usual "Add new hardware" dialog should come up. You will need to download, and then locate the .INF file distributed with micro-OSC, and then select it in the appropriate manner through the wizard. Supposedly this works for Windows Vista as well.

At the present time the Windows connectivity options are premature. To interface micro-OSC to MaxMSP one must use a python script (provided) to relay data to/from the serial port and network stack. The performance of the link is not good.

There are plans to implement an object that interfaces micro-OSC to MaxMSP on all platforms.
