The process where a computer automatically "listens" to a live music performance and tracks the position in the score; research pertaining to this technique.
Why do we create art and what do we expect it to do? This is the question posed in 68. In the beginning we witness the creative act: a poet, writing and speaking out the earliest fragments of his poems; discovering through experiment his voice, both physically and figuratively.
Darsana I is an interactive work for a pianist playing the Yamaha Disklavier (a piano fitted with MIDI technology in its keys). I connect the Disklavier to a computer and program software to interact with a pianist. The pianist plays material which acts as triggers to the Disklavier, and causes it to respond with material I have worked out.
