#Overview
The Music Information Node type is used to join a category (a tag in the Music Information Center Vocabulary) to a topic (a term from any other vocabulary). Though these nodes are not directly visible from the MIC, they are the glue the joins Categories to Topics in the MIC world.

#Creating the node
In the lefthand menu select Create Content->Music Information. First enter a title which will encompass all of the vocabulary terms that will be incorporated on the page. In the "Short Description" field, enter a sentence or two that describes the collection of terms. The short description is shown on the MIC page next to the Music Information node's title.

#An Example

To add the topic Extended Instrumental Techniques to the Category Orchestration we must start by creating a Music Information Node and tagging it appropriately. After filling in the "title" field with "Orchestration", connect the term with the category, by checking the category at the top of the page. This is a required field. It is possible to add more than one category to a Music Information Node in which case all terms tagged to this node will appear under both categories.

Proceed to check any of the terms that you would like to appear as a topic of this category. In this example we will check Extended Instrumental Techniques.

After clicking submit verify that the terms tagged to the node appear under that category in the MIC.

#Removing a Topic from a Music Information Node

To remove a topic from appearing under a MIC category, re-categorize the Music Information Node which is linked to that category and uncheck all the terms that you do not want to appear in that category. The simplest way to do this is to use the "Categorize" button at the top of the page (if available) and unselect the terms that you don't want in the category. If "Categorize" is not available, you'll need to manually uncheck all occurrences of the term under all of the tagging menus.
