The case tracker deals with any sort of request for someone to "do something". That includes fixing bugs, improving software, finding things, researching things, buying things, etc.
The functions of the case tracker include assigning the task to the user, and reassigning it to other users, and setting the task "state".
# How to add a case
Using the menu, go to "Case Tracker > Create New Case", or "Create Content > Case", or just [cnmat:node/add/casetracker-basic-case|click here].
- Select the appropriate project
- Select a priority level for the case request
- Type the name of the person to assign the case to
# How to respond to a case that was assigned to you
Use the "Reply" link to add comments to the case. You can change the case status and assignment in the comment. The case creator and the assignee are automatically emailed when the comment is posted. Do *NOT* edit the original case node--notifications will NOT be sent out when you do this.
# How to see what cases are assigned to you
Go to Casetracker. Then click the tab, "My assigned cases".

# Case access control
Cases can only be seen by a user who can see the casetracker project it is assigned to. All projects are restricted to a group. There are a few projects available to all users and they are: "Website Support", "CNMAT Downloads".
