[http://www.randomacoustics.de/www.randomacoustics.de/artists/index.html|Georg Graewe] has been composing and performing since his mid-teens and formed his first quintet in 1974. He has subsequently been leading a variety of ensembles ranging from trio to chamber orchestra formats, which have involved some of the major soloists in contemporary music. His compositions, which include works for solo piano as well as trios, quartets, pieces for chamber ensembles and full symphony orchestra, have been performed at major venues in New York, Istanbul, Berlin, Rome, Cologne, Vancouver, Paris, Chicago, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Vienna, Dallas, London, San Diego, Zürich. His work is documented on over 30 releases on several American and European labels. Mr.Graewe is currently performing his music as a soloist as well as in multiple group combinations that include reedmen Peter van Bergen, Frank Gratkowski, Mats Gustafsson and Ken Vandermark, trombonists Jeb Bishop and Sebi Tramontana, tubist Melvyn Poore, violinist Sara Parkins, cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm, harpist Anne LeBaron, bassists Kent Kessler and Barry Guy and drummers Susie Ibarra, Hamid Drake and Paul Lovens. He has also been collaborating with David Wessel (CNMAT) on a project for piano and interactive computer systems.
