Cruelly Coy, in collaboration with UC Berkeley Department of Music faculty and graduate students
Sabina Meyer - voice, Elio Martusciello - electronics with UC Berkeley musicians Myra Melford - piano, Nils Bultman - viola, Heather Frasch - flute and Jason Levis - drums/percussion
For this special performance at CNMAT, the members of Cruelly Coy, a new music duo from Switzerland/Italy, will collaborate with UC Berkeley
Department of Music faculty and graduate students in an evening of pure improvisational music.
Sabina Meyer is a singer of Swiss and Italian origins that has made cross-cultural references a key issue in her approach to performing music
of the most diverse kind. Contemporary classical music, antiques arias and new European free improvisation blend seamlessly in a musical sound-scape of her own invention. Works by contemporary composers have been written for her and she has performed premieres and held close collaborations with musicians such as Alvin Curran, Veryan Weston, Elio Martusciello, Tristan Honsinger, John Tilbury, Paul Lovens, Hans Koch, Conductus Ensemble, Alter Ego and numerous others.
