Composer and trumpeter, Oren Boneh, is a PhD candidate at the University of California, Berkeley where he works with Franck Bedrossian, Edmund Campion, Ken Ueno and Cindy Cox. His music has been performed by ensembles such as Ensemble Divertimento, Ensemble Meitar, Vertixe Sonora, Ensemble Regards, Ensemble Pentaèdre, the Playground, Ensemble Transmission, Ensemble Reconsil and Architek Percussion. His works have been presented in festivals and concert series such as Festival Mixtur, Spaziomusica Festival, Tzlil Meudcan with Ensemble Nikel, Soundstreams, Toronto International Electroacoustic Symposium, CULTIVATE at the Copland House, Random Access Music, NYCEMF, Montreal Contemporary Music Lab, Sonorities Festival of Contemporary Music, KcEMA and various others.
He has been Composer-In-Residence at the Millay Colony for the Arts, the Visby International Centre for Composers (Gotland, Sweden) and the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts (Nebraska City, Nebraska). Supported by a Fulbright fellowship during the 2015-16 year, Oren was based in Dresden, Germany to study composition and also conducted research at the Dresden Music Cognition Lab. Oren holds degrees from McGill University and the University of Denver and has studied additionally at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
