Trevor Van de Velde (b. 1998) is a composer interested in the relationship between the body and noise. Often utilizing found objects and electronics, Trevor's works aim to form an interface between performer, space, and source of sound. Current projects include the body you dream of is your own, an installation opera for solo performer and 8-channel video array where the relationships between the human body and media are isolated and explored.
Trevor is currently an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley pursuing a degree in both Data Science and Music. He is currently studying composition with Ken Ueno and Ed Campion. Trevor is also the recipient of the 2018 Nicola De Lorenzo Prize in Music Composition and 2019 UC Berkeley Music Theater Prize. He was also a selected participant in New Amsterdam Record’s Composer Lab Workshop where he worked with composer William Brittelle.
