Machine Creativity at CNMAT was featured in the opening ceremony of the GRID-EXPOSURE - Art + Tech + Policy Days and inside the ARS ELECTRONICA 2020 Artificial Intelligence and Music Festival (link).

CNMAT researcher and composer Daniele Ghisi, together with Andrea Agostini, Julien Vincenot, Davor Vincze will hold a summer seminar on the bach library at CCRMA (Stanford University). Given the circumstances, it's an online seminar, so it's accessible from everywhere. The dates are June 22th through 25th.

We write to share in the grief and anger that has moved protesters around the country and the world to protest against the Black racism and violence that is pervasive in our society. Together, we mourn the life of George Floyd, and the lives of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Tony Robinson, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Philando Castile, and so many others whose lives were wrongfully cut short. We demand justice. Black Lives Matter.

On May 29, 2020 from 9.30-11 am PT, Professor Carmine-Emanuele from CNMAT will hold a live "hands on" session on the software Orchidea for computer-assisted orchestration (http://www.orch-idea.org).

CNMAT-affiliated artist Claudia Hart received an award from the Esports Digital Art Prizes for 2019.  Her acceptance of the award included the creative reuse of ZOOM's virtual background feature.  The acceptance video went viral and points to a playful emerging art practice in the time of crisis -- something Hart calls ON ZOOMOLOGY.
