Jeremy Hunt is a composer, poet, and creative technologist based in Oakland. After graduating UC Berkeley with a PhD in Music Composition with a Designated Emphasis in New Media in 2008, Jeremy embarked on a career in education administration, teaching, and pedagogy in the private education sector.
In August 2021 Jeremy returned to CNMAT as Acting Associate Director. He brings with him a solid skill set in academic administration and as a CNMAT alum is looking forward to utilizing these skills in service of a great institution.
Jeremy’s artistic and aesthetic sensibilities lie at the intersection of an eclectic array of interests including tuning theory, algorithmic and computer assisted composition, improvisation, instrument design, poetics, philosophy, procedural visual arts, and the interplay between the visual representation of physical gesture and musical gesture.
