CNMAT is happy to welcome back Percussionist Russell Greenberg for a visit!  Russell is a founding member of the YARN/WIRE quartet and has collaborated over the years with many UC Berkeley composers.

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ON ASSISTED ORCHESTRATION

 

Undergraduate students are working with Assistant Professor Carmine Cella on computer-assisted orchestration and machine learning.

This semester, visiting undergraduate researcher from China, Hongfu Liu, is interning at CNMAT. His topic is: 

Deep Learning Approaches for Computer-Assisted Orchestration

Computer-assisted orchestration is a recognized topic in Music Information Retrieval (MIR).  Systems ‘Orchidea’ and ‘Ato-ms’ have been used by composers in different communities for many years.

Jean Geoffroy at CNMAT

 

Jean Geoffroy, percussionist, and international soloist, is in residence this week at CNMAT working with composer Edmund Campion on projects and collaborations with the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon (CNSMDL) and Générateur de Ressources et d’Activités Musicales Exploratoires (GRAME).
