odot

First developed as a set of Max/MSP patches by Adrian Freed, odot was later ported to C and expanded into a full expression language by John MacCallum, with contributions from Andy Schmeder, Rama Gottfried, Ilya Rostovtsev, Jeff Lubow, and others at CNMAT between 2007 and 2016. Its language supports functional, declarative, imperative, and object-oriented programming styles alongside timing and scheduling primitives for sequencing and synchronizing sound in real time. Odot has been used in works performed internationally, including at Ars Electronica's Kepler's Gardens. It remains under active development, maintained by John MacCallum.
