LECTURER – Music Technology and Music Perception – Department of Music

The Department of Music at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a
pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach any of the following areas:
Music and technology involving CNMAT technologies and Max/MSP programming. Special
topic courses involving software programming for musical applications of computers and audio
engineering. Music courses focusing on music perception and cognition. Music appreciation
courses with an emphasis on music software and lab-based learning.

Heather Frasch (Ph.D. 2011)

Joins the team at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology NTNU as Associate Professor in Music Technology. Along with her commitment to creating dynamic and inclusive courses in Sound Art and Music Technology, she will be pursuing interdisciplinary research into the design of textural sonic environments and collaborating with colleagues to explore unstable performance systems.

CNMAT OpenLab 3

The third CNMAT OpenLab  will take place online on April 23, 2021, 3pm-4pm PST.

OpenLabs are open events where CNMAT's life and projects can be shared with the community. 

Each OpenLab is made by a series of 4 quick talks (10 mins + 5 mins questions) for 1hr total. The general idea of these talks is to provide an overview of the current activities at CNMAT to foster collaborations and develop ideas.

Andrew Blanton ANTIPHON

Berkeley graduate composer Andrew Blanton's work ANTIPHON will open as a part of the NewArt.City Festival on Monday, March 22nd , 2021, with online performances at 7 pm and 8 pm.  The work is a real-time interactive installation and performance space.
